Hey Everyone, My name is Melissa and I currently work in web marketing and project management. I've finally had the opportunity to come back to school and finish what I started over 10 years ago. I am trying to complete my degree in Information Technology, which I hope to get done this semester. I'm grateful for the internet and our technological advances, affording me the opportunity to continue. Without online distant learning offered at an accredited university I would not have had the time to come back.
Although I work in a segment of the online world, technology has moved forward so quickly, I don't feel I have been keeping up with the latest avenues on the internet, such as facebook, twitter, blogging, etc. I'm amazed with how quickly computer technologies and the internet have progressed. Mr. Moore predicts every 18 months the density (complexity) of silicon chips will double. That means as technology increases so will the speed of the rate at which it is developed. I don’t want to get left behind, so it's important that I refresh my knowledge of the Internet every so often. I believe by “Exploring the Internet” with all of you under the care and guidance of Mr. Annuziato I can bring myself back up to speed!
Hello Melissa, This is Pamela Lockett, and I feel the same way you do. I don't really keep up with facebook or twitter, but it seems like everyone else is on both sites all hours of the day no matter what. As far as social networking I think it is better that we not keep up with it at all times. It's good to keep in touch with people, but sometimes it can completely consume a person and what they do or have been doing all day. I think exploring the Internet as a whole is the best way to keep up with technology.
